Just in time for Ramadan, the “Islam Around the World” flickr group has been launched!
The group asks you to share your images or create new ones that complete the phrase, “Islam is…” Tell us what Islam means to you in your life, your city, your country. Please add your photographs to our group and describe in the caption box what your image is about. We’d like to share as many of these images as possible on our blog, our website and our Facebook page. If you’d like us to include your photos among those we share elsewhere, please remove any copyright restrictions and let us know how you’d like to be credited.
Join the group and upload your photos or simply send your photos in an email to: state61per@photos.flickr.com. Include in the email: the title in the subject line, the description in the body and the photo attached. Please Tag the photos #Islam. You can do that by putting “tags: #Islam” in the body of your email.

Obama , in my opinion, is putting a balance to attitudes that were previously overtly anti Muslim. He should, in all fairness, treat all religions equally. The word of God must be the same in all religions,if we believe there can be only one God–the all knowing omnipresent creator of all things living and non-living. Its about we all realize the oneness of mankind and try to work in harmony towards the shared and common future we all have on this tiny planet.
We have eons to travel together. Just as we have dispelled so many hatreds and animosities in the last few hundred years of our civilization, by extrapolation, we must continue the progress till we are one with OUR Maker. One World One People!

I just add that the same attitude must be shown also in Islamic and Arab countries with other religions !! It’s easy speaking when it’s for your own rights, but when it’s for other, we see sometime an opposite reaction completely !!!
I really wish that Islamic countries treat equaly “others”.. and admet built beautiful churches.. etc, and real freedom of religion to their communities..
Thank you so much.. and all my best wishes for all…

It’s heartening to see that there are sites which are trying to bring peace, tolerance & harmony among people around the world thru sharing knowledge & information.
It feels nice that this kind of attempt is being made by the States.
I sincerely hope that the site would achieve its noble end.
