President Obama congratulated Afghan President Hamid Karzai on his re-election after his opponent Abdullah Abdullah withdrew from the race. The two candidates were to face each other November 7 in a run-off after no presidential candidate received a majority of the vote in an August contest.
“Although the process was messy, I’m pleased to say that the final outcome was determined in accordance with Afghan law, which I think is very important, not only for the international community that has so much invested in Afghan success, but most importantly, is important for the Afghan people that the results were in accordance with and followed the rules laid down by the Afghan constitution,” Obama said.
Obama said the American people are committed to helping Afghanistan achieve prosperity and security, but that the Afghan government must play its part to fight corruption and strengthen governance. A text of the president’s remarks is available on America.gov.

What a common man needs all over the world is safety, security and opportunities for useful productive work and ofcourse an environment where he can enjoy peacefully the fruits of his labour. That is what a common citizen of Afghanistan aspires for to-day. No individual, groups of individuals, political functionaris in Afghanistan or members of the international community represented by UN, USA and NATO are in a position to guarantee that to the common man in Afghanistan. Thus, the only option is for everbody to work together, irrespective of his caste, creed, ethnicity, religion or political and social affiliations for putting the country back on track. Under the constitution, the president is to form the government. Whosoever, is included in the government, whatever be the creed or colour of the people forming the government, the single point agenda of the government and the international community has to be, the overall development of Afganistan and to free the common man from the miseries of the last three decades and providing them a ray of hope for seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.

No one can free the Afghan commom man of his miseries unless he decides to do it himself. The common man not only in Afghanistan but whole of this region have been living in misrable conditions. The main reason for this deplorable condition is Population Explosion. The only solution is to make immediate drastic cut in population growth and educate the common man the benefit of small family. There is no other way.If we dont do it, the Nature will do it in the form of Climate Change. Its happening now.
