Meeting with world leaders at the United Nations’ Climate Change Summit, President Obama said “no nation, however large or small, wealthy or poor, can escape the impact of climate change.”
The effects of climate change can be reversed, Obama said. While the United States may have not done enough in the past, “it is a new era. … I am proud to say that the United States has done more to promote clean energy and reduce carbon pollution in the last eight months than at any other time in our history.”
The United States is increasing its investment in renewable energies and will work with other nations to seek other solutions.
“Because no one nation can meet this challenge alone, the United States has also engaged more allies and partners in finding a solution than ever before,” Obama said. The president acknowledged that international cooperation on the topic is challenging, but that “difficulty is no excuse for complacency.”
What do you think - can the effects of climate change be reversed? And do you believe governments will work together to make this happen?
The transcript of Obama’s remarks is available on America.gov.

Prof. OBASI of NIGERIA once taught us during our youthful student days at the World Meteorological Organization Institute -Centre Dagoretti- Kenya that CLIMATE - CHANGE is a function of concepts of freedom and responsibility.
The succinct discussion on climate change evolves around the Axis of CONCEPTS of FREEDOM and RESPONSIBILITY of man that is used to address the biodiversity of natural resources around us and how it is exploited FOR PEACEFUL CO-EXISTENCE in a DEMOCRATIC GOVERNANCE STATE.
It is at this SUMMIT that World leaders must come up with a CONCRETE but a common VISION GOAL and ACTION to prevent CLIMATOLOGICAL TERRORISM which comes in the form of bombing icebergs in exploration of oil, minerals at the far North and South poles. If the big changes such as melting of great icebergs, are initiated due to increased concentrations of greenhouse gases, then their path-cycles are not reversible. The cost-benefit analysis of consumer cleaner production is lower now than later. The general problem with CO2 is that large part of our emissions stays in the atmosphere for centuries and centuries as climate responds relatively slowly to changes in greenhouse gas concentrations.
The recklessness of cutting / burning thick forests for timber logging in Africa and Latin America, ending the radioactive ray effects by nuclear proliferation NEGOTIATIONS in MIDDLE EAST in DIRECT FACE TO FACE CONCRETE DIALOGUE, alleviating poverty and securing prosperity of humankind.
The current climate change case studies tell us that for about 1% of global GDP the most consequences of climate can be alleviated. But the costs of unlimited global warming are enormous to say.
The current DILEMAS on climate change are as follows: regional climate effects, equilibrium climate sensitivity ,the role of aerosol and cloud, sea-level
The WAY FORWARD is for the next sustainable development generation is to differentiate and integrate the threefold factors of CLIMATE-CHANGE as follows: The vectors of (1) climate change occurrence as a function of man action,( 2)VECTORS OF THE PROBLEM and (3) VECTORS OF WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT.?

Global carbon trading market can be nurtured to discipline the large consumers by requiring that they buy carbon units from green ecomonies to compensate the world for polluting. Polluter pays principle requires the producer of carbon dioxide to pay.USA should ratify the Kyoto protocal to shoe their goodwill. Global warming is already causing menace in several ecosystems world-wide.incentives should be given to promoters of green business, eco-production and organic agriculture.

Unstable mind of humankind changes climate.
Leaders of the world must make safely a mind of humankind.
Then a climate issue is solved.

You are right Mr. President Obama to say at the meeting with World leaders at the United Nations’ Climate Change Summit that: “no nation, however large or small, wealthy or poor, can escape the impact of climate change.”Since a positive change to our world is its every citizen’s responsibility, I (Pacifique Sukisa-Makasi originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo and currently in exile in South Africa), continue to beleieve that many of us (ordinary citizens of this planet) support you one way or another in our personal capacity for your commitment to contribute on making the World a better place where the hard worker and peace lovers shall live and prosper.

We need a massive push to replace the use of fossil fuels with electric power.
It will kill many birds with one stone.

wise decision by the committee. if one knows the thief then and give protection responsiblity to him then he is safe
i personally see this award as the check on the president that he can not act as a distructor as it was earlier the America as power full nation
i really appreciate the vision of the 44 th president but it should be achieved in time frame
and to implement this vision he has to displease a group of people who control the economy of the U.S.A because his vision does not support to man and money eaters it is really a big challenge to mr. Obama
i would like to share my personal experiences which you can also try and see the effect and experience
the now era is known as the TRUTH era led by the only live universal energy is known as KALANKI the power of this simple word can be experience to utter like OM KALANKI NAMAH (simple meaning is that i bow to the almighty energy ) while doing this just tuch the head on the earth where ever you are and start uttering this name and see the result i feel you will get support from all over to implement your vision in time schedule and will remain the peace icon in the mans world once again
