Obama throws out first pitch at all-star game

Barack Obama

President Obama threw the first pitch at last night’s Major League Baseball All-Star Game. He was cheered by baseball fans even though the pitch was a little short of home plate.

Throwing a ceremonial first pitch is a presidential tradition that dates back decades, although Obama was the first president to do this at an all-star game since Gerald Ford. Many were surprised to see the president wear a Chicago White Sox jacket while at the St. Louis, Missouri, Cardinal’s stadium.

“Everyone knows I’m a White Sox fan,” Obama said while he joined the television commentators during the game. “My wife thinks I look cute in this jacket. Between those two things, why not?” A video of this conversation is available on Real Clear Sports.

  1. It’s Very Humility from President Obama
Obama is very Social Man ,
We were not wrong when we choosed him.
    Thank you our President :)

  2. Obama throws worse than a woman and couldn’t even get it over home plate! I bet Sarah Palin could have done better!

  3. Keith Olbermann, the dashing lad, may be right. Sarah Palin, with her known credentials, could have thrown anything at anybody sans apology.

  4. It’s just a game, so he didn’t throw that well..in a free country even the Pres. gets to dress however he wants at a game, what’s the big deal about his mom pants..at least he didn’t wear a suit and tie.

  5. I liked it very much but his pitch was far too short.
Hope and wishes him that his political proposals are not too short.

  6. nice to see him take a break from all the speeches. frankly, he is beginning to look more like a motivational speaker than the president of the US.

  8. Maybe Obama should have thrown up his hand in support of our troops that was at the all star game. My nephew was there because he was asked to unfold the flag on the field. He is a soldier in the US Army. As President Obama walked past them (and BTW He and his company has just returned from an 18 month tour of duty in Iraq) Obama did not even acknowledge that they were there. What a slap in the face from your Boss! He is a JOKE as commander-n-chief. Maybe no one explained to the 2 year senator that this was in the job discription. Its a crime and a shame and I can only imagine what was going through the minds of the soldiers as they were standing there anticipating his entrance and then to be completely ignored by him!!! It’s just wrong.

  9. keith, you let me down! still using women as the measure of inferiority?!

  10. you know what the real joke is? your former commander in chief sending troops half way around the world to die for oil and opium. the sad thing about it is that the disillusioned people such as yourself think it’s a war against terrorism. the real slap in the face is that your so-called representatives in Congress and the esteemed Oval Office have allowed America to be sold the highest bidder by allowing U.S. companies to ship jobs overseas! That’s the REAL slap in the face
