President Obama’s campaign slogans “change we can believe in” and “yes we can” continue to motivate audiences overseas, months after his election.
That’s one reason why the American Embassy in Lusaka, Zambia, paired up with the nation’s musicians to make “Change We Can Believe In,” a music video that aired on local radio and television, which aims to inspire young people to participate in local elections.
“It’s becoming like an anthem,” says Mutamula Mwale, one of the performers in the video. “It’s gathering all youths together and I think we are all realizing that yes, we can — we can make a difference in our country, we can make a difference in our continent, we can make a difference even in the world.”
You can watch it yourself – it’s quite catchy, and if you’re like me, you’ll have this song in your head all afternoon!
Anyone know of any other Obama-inspired songs?

We in Ghana especially, the northern region of Ghana are excited that President Obama is visiting Ghana. We wish and hope that he include in his visit plan to Northern Ghana to interact with us. Or he should acknowledge us in his speech as a way of encouraging the young ones to work hard towards the reduction of poverty.

I actually find it a bit inappropriate a governmental agency is promoting Presidential music videos. There are almost as many people in this country who disapprove of the President’s policies as who do, but if you read this site you’d never know that.
I think we should have an open and honest discussion here about issues and challenges we face today and the best course of action to take.

It is respectable that americans have changed their thinking style during or before elections. They need revolutionary changes and peace in the entire world. It is in the best interests of all nations.president obama is thinking positively to save the resources of this world.previous govt. destroyed not only the resources of america but also the resources of many other countries through wars e.g oil reserves destroyed in iraq.Best wishes for all people.

Zelaya did not propose a ‘non-binding public consultation’ that would have been legal and the democratic thing to do. What he did was ask for a referendum, to use as a political weapon to demand an extension of his term which is absolutely against the Honduran constitution. The Supreme Court (who in Honduras has the power to make this decision) ruled this unlawful. Zelaya was told that this referendum would be unlawful but he decided to continue anyway. He then tried to use the Army to overrule the ruling. Instead the army stuck by the rule of the law, as it should. How can the world call this an unlawful act when it is the exact opposite. The only person who has been treacherous, has been Mel Zelaya. All Hondurans can be proud of the way Zelaya was removed for violating Article 239 of the Constitution.

Your planned visit to Ghana is commendable. To drive the message home to neighbouring African leaders like Nigeria, let it be loud and clear that you abhor bad governance such as the one in Nigeria at the moment.

“Comments are moderated and generally will be posted if they are on-topic and respectful.”
So what you are saying is, “Don’t criticize the president, be respectful.” This site is controlled and filtered of most negative comments, just like the president’s staged town hall meetings, where Democrats are gathered and given questions to read by the White House staff. It is interesting that most of the blogs come from overeseas, where Mr. Obama is more popular than he is here in the US.
