Some readers have been asking if President Obama’s speech in Cairo today has been translated. So far, Obama’s speech has been translated into Arabic, Chinese, Persian, Indonesian and Turkish.
If I see it in any other languages, I’ll post them online as well. If anyone else sees translations, I hope you will share them with everyone! Post them in the comments section.
UPDATE June 5:Thanks to readers’ help, we’ve found the speech in some more languages, including French, Hindi, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, Urdu and Hebrew.

Señor Obama, soy española. He leído en la prensa su discurso en el Cairo y en él, ha hecho referencia a la buena relación islámica con otras culturas, como lo fue en Andalucia, el Califato de Córdoba y con la Inquisición.
Señor Obama, no se que Asesores culturales tiene usted a su lado. Ni se tampoco el grado de cultura que le acompaña, excepto la formación específica de su carrera profesional. Pero señor Obama, la cultura es mucho mas que tener un título que le capacite para trabajar en un área concreta laboral. La cultura es un campo tan amplio que, cuando se habla de algún tema concreto, sepa exactamente de qué habla y además, sepa razonarlo.
Señor Obama,independientemente de que usted ha puesto en el ojo del huracán a los españoles que, como sabe, tenemos frontera con paises islámicos y dentro de nuestras fronteras, gran número de ellos procedentes de emigraciones, su cultura en relación con mi país, ha dado un traspiés de tal calibre, que avergüenza a culquier persona medianamente culta,lo haya realizado el Presidente de los Estados Unidos.
Señor Obama, el Califato de Córdoa-nada pacífico por cierto-finalizó en el siglo X. La Inquisición, señor Obama, no fué instaurada hasta el siglo XV, es decir, cinco siglos después del Califato de Córdoba.De esa manera, dificilmente pueden haber coincidido ambas Instituciones.
Señor Obama, le pido con todo respeto, un poco de respeto para el pueblo español, que no está representado exclusivamente por el Presidente Zapatero. El pueblo español, somos un pueblo antiguo y con grandes culturas en nuestra Historia.
Señor Obama, respete al menos nuestra Historia, nuestra cultura. No hable por hablar. No hable para agradar a las personas que le oyen mientras humilla a los españoles. Y nos está humillando primero, al hablar de nuestra Historia sin conocerla. Y segundo, al hablar de una parte de nuestra Historia que si en algo se caracterizó, fue en las enormes represiones, asesinatos y persecuciones a los cristianos por el mundo musulmán y que nos costó ocho siglos de luchas constantes contra los invasores musulmanes.
Señor Obama, por favor, antes de hablar asesórese mucho mejor y sobre todo, respete el sufrimiento de un pueblo que para sacudirse de la opresión islámica, tuvo que derramar la sangre de sus gentes, durante muchos siglos.

president obamas speach to the muslim world was extremely inspiring.hope he delivers a similar one in pakistan one day.muslims are very emotional poeple and get charged up easily.right now president obama has been able to to channel the emotions of majority of muslims in a positive direction .if his words are matched by action it will be the bigest blow to the extremist and will normalice realations between america and the muslim world .however similar speaches followed by actions are extremely important to reduce the trust deficit between the muslim world..generally muslims have started loving obama and he can become the leader of the free world in true sense if he delivers on what he says.

Mr. Salman, you can’t judge the whole world only for what you think. I mean if you have “started loving Obama” it doesn’t mean that every other Muslim agrees with you. I know many Muslims personally who just hate Obama (and they are sensible). How can a non-Muslim be so sympathetic to the Muslims?I think you will say,”because his father was a Muslim.” But if he really is so very sympathetic to Muslims, why doesn’t he simply embrace their religion?
so, you just don’t get yourself into believing that he is doing all this for you lot. he might have some other plans. so, prepare for that!

Sr. Obama, la lectura de su discurso me ha producido dos impresiones:
1º) Vd. o su guionista son unos ignorantes
2º) Es Vd. un temerario por poner en peligro la vida de los españoles.
Le explico:
En cuanto a la primera impresión, está claro que de historia de España Vd. no tiene ni idea. Mezclar la Inquisición con el Al-Andalus es como mezclar el tocino y la velocidad, es decir, nada que ver.
Así que le aconsejo que se asesore mejor y estudie un poco que todos sabemos de lo que adolece y que carencias tiene.
Se conoce como Al-Ándalusسal territorio de la península Ibérica y de la Septimania bajo poder musulmán durante la Edad Media, entre los años 711 y 1492.
Los musúlmanes nos INVADIERON, ocuparon nuestro territorio traicionando a quien había pedido su ayuda.
Con el avance de la Reconquista iniciada por los cristianos refugiados en las montañas del norte peninsular, el nombre de al-Ándalus se fue adecuando al menguante territorio bajo ocupación arabomusulmana, cuyas fronteras fueron progresivamente empujadas hacia el sur, hasta la toma de Granada por los Reyes Católicos en 1492, que puso FIN AL DOMINIO musulmán en la península.
Por tanto, fueron los moros los que nos invadieron y no los españoles los que invadieron a los moros. Los españoles recuperaron su territorio, el de España.
En cuanto a la Inquisición, fue una institución establecida en el Siglo XV en España. En Francia en el Siglo XI o XII.
Pero claro VD. prefiere no meterse con los franceses que pueden ser sus aliados en las batallas que Vd. vaya a librar en nombre de la ¿democracia? y sin embargo ve un suculento pastel en la posición geográfica y estratégica de España para sus fines imperialistas ¿verdad?
Los mayoría de los españoles no somos tontos aunque nuestro Presidente lo sea.
En cuanto a la segunda impresión, es Vd. un loco temerario. España, de tradición cristiana-católica, seguirá siendo católica, aunque a Vd. y a los moros no les guste.
Con un Presidente aliado con Marruecos, que abre nuestras fronteras a todo cuanto musulmán ilegal entre y que aún encima se burla de la Iglesia Católica y la persigue como se burla y persigue a los católicos en España (es decir, a casi toda la población española, menos 4 tarados de la Zeja) ya tenemos suficiente como para VD. aún encima intente echarnos a los musúlmanes encima e imponernos el Islam.
Por otra parte, le comunico que España es UNA y los españoles somos todos los que vivimos en España. Que no hay razas diferentes. Y que no hay motivos para que Vd. defienda nada en el Senado estadounidense sobre las distintas razas del pueblo español. Seguramente un neoyokino y un californiano también se distinguen ¿verdad? Pues esto es lo que ocurre en España.
Así que vaya olvidándose de arremeter contra la unidad de la Nación española.
Por todo, creo necesario, como española, que debe Vd. disculparse ante todos los españoles que nos hemos sentido ultrajados por sus declaraciones en Oriente.

Me refiero al comentario anterior de mi compatriota Maria Cristina y me dirijo a ella.
Siento que una referencia equivocada te impida ver el sentido de un importante discurso. Es mejor equivocarse en algo y arriesgar tratando de abordar los importantes problemas entre naciones.
Respecto de tu encendido ataque hacia la presencia árabe en la península es increible que se formule a comienzos del S.XXI dando a entender que eran los “malos” frente a los “buenos”. Una forma de presentar la historia totalmente falsa.
Perdona, pero suena a ‘franquismo’ tu alegato.
Desde España millones de personas estamos en contra de un ‘occidente’ que invade Irak, permite el genocidio palestino, fomenta la discriminación racial, etc.
Al Sr,Obama le deseo toda la suerte del mundo porque sus primeros pasos demuestran que va a haber cambio en los EEUU y ojalá no haya más fotos de las Azores.

Estimado compatriota Jorge, por favor, deja tus arengas demagógicas, absurdas y trasnochadas para aquellos que no sepan, no conozcan o confundan el tocino con la velocidad.
Estoy hablando en todo momento de HISTORIA, del discurso del señor Obama que si algo debería tener, es un asesoramiento al menos, básico,para que errores de bulto como el realizado por él en su discurso de El Cairo, no se produzcan.
En cualquier exámen de 1º de Bachillerato una confusión de ese tipo, sería motivo suficiente para ser suspendido un alumno. ¿Como no exigirle al señor Obama que el Califato de Córdoba y la Inquisición, fueron en el tiempo algo tan alejado entre sí como la expusión de los moros por los Reyes Católicos y la llegada a la luna del hombre? Si no eres capaz de entender algo tan básico, tan real, es que has estudiado el sistema LOGSE, con lo cual, te refleja y deja todo claro.
Por otro lado, querido compatriota,los musulmanes INVADIERON la península por el sur y fueron extendiéndose por toda ella y gran parte de Europa,debido sobre todo a la desorientación dejada tras la caída de Roma y la falta de liderazgo en el mundo occidental. Así pues, si quieres ver en la HISTORIA tu obsesión con el franquismo, es algo muy personal y que en absoluto voy a entrar a valorarte. Otros son obsesos del chocotale o de la coca o sencillamente, cejateros (de los CJAPE) pero como digo, allá cada cual.
Pero te pese lo que te pese, ESPAÑA, fue INVADIDA por esos mismos que ahora Obama, lleno de un oportunismo político totalmente descalificable,los ponen como parangón de convivencia y buenas costumbres con otras civilizaciones. Seguramente el señor Obama, estaría encantado que el día de mañana, sus hijas se casen con algún musulman y se vayan a vivir a alguno de esos paises, somentiéndose a las costumbres y usos que hacia las mujeres, se practica.
Pero tampoco éste es el tema. Lo principal, apreciado compatriota, es que un Presidente de los Estados Unidos, NO puede permitirse errores de ese tipo, ni por muy buenas intenciones que se le supongan. Son demasiados Asesores los que le acompañan y redactan los discursos como para que errores de bulto de ese tipo, sean solo casualidades. En política y a esos niveles, las casualidades son rarísimas. En el Presidente de los Estados Unidos, imposibles.

Sorprende leer comentarios en castellano en éste blog y me parece estupendo. Pero dirigiéndome a quien pueda entender el español y refiriéndome a comentario de Marian Rey, decir que si bien una de las dos Españas en el S.XXI siguen insistiendo en conceptos ideológicos (nacional-catolicismo), nada científicos como los dos largos comentarios redactados en español, hoy, en 2009 hay otra España que puede entender las buenas intenciones del discurso del Presidente Obama, que desea olvidar lo antes posible a quienes no denunciaron las atrocidades facistas,…. mintieron vilmente justificando la invasión de Irak, que se muestra solidaria con muchos pueblos árabes reprimidos (Palestina, Sahara Occidental,..) que lamenta nuestra historia colonizadora y la de otros paises europeos que no digamos invadieron, sino que saquearon y robaron a terceros países. Si me vuelve a leer mi compañera María Cristina, decirte que con tu comentario de la Logse ’se te ve el plumero’ y por último Marian, ¿no crees que un foro america.gov no es el mejor sitio para llamarle tonto a Zapatero?

Moreover; Mr. Obama has given his lofty remarks and sincere emphasis on the Christian Judaism and Muslim religious positive integration in this cosmos based upon faith, belief, principle and moral value.
Over and above, Mr Obama has critically made known us his governmental policy concern to offer persistent solution for Israel-Palestine/Arabs interminable predicament by his honorable speech. At this point, I appreciate his dependable promise that he made for the world multitudes; Christian, Judaism and Muslim communities so as to generate and instigate the principle of humanity and mutual cooperation rather than contended old socially conventional life style with harsh and wild opposition, as well as humiliation and persecution amongst the planet’s citizens.
Yet again, Mr. Obama have explicitly confirmed the coming era of globalization and mankind’s unity towards new move across each continent, religion and faith.
HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!! It is appreciable that he is perfect in his way on the subject of antiterrorism for the sake of global peace liberty, freedom, and justice to all. These principles have to be the cornerstone of Obama’s policy. We all go after it.
Finally, I would like to make a statement about the constant move towards the perfection of the aforementioned suggestion is that the head of states as well as the leaders of various religions, political entity and social groups of the whole global communities have to make strong collaboration to corroborate these blameless vision and noble agenda.

In my mind and throughout our nation’s (Philippines) history, I know that America has played a huge role in maintaining the present deplorable conditions of our people. Its foreign policy, economic and military interests and its tolerance of our corrupt leaders and political system as long as these serves American interests. It is certainly better compared to the colonialism of Spain, but as much as I recognized every colonialist contributions it is but fitting to point out its ill effects in the development of our nation.
I harbor doubts regarding Obama. He is part of an institution that has pursued self-interest in its long history- from the middle east, to vietnam, to latin america. But deep inside me, I cannot deny the sincerity of this man. I just hope he will soon reach out to our people, and help the genuine democratic interest of our people in getting rid of deeply rooted corruption in our country and those, as he said in many of his speeches, those who maintain their power through corruption and deceit. But whether he does that or not, the forces of history and aspirations of our people for social justice will inevitably shape the future of our nation. I just hope he will stand by the side of what is right and what is true as it happens and when it happens.

September 12th began the decline of the great America that we knew. But you Mr. President… just undid 8 years worth of bad responses to Sep 11.
