Americans had eagerly awaited the one and only vice presidential debate October 2 and millions tuned in to hear what Sarah Palin and Joe Biden had to say. Early estimates indicate the vice presidential debate received 30 percent more viewers that last week’s presidential debate. The numbers are not final, but the audience appears to be as large as the one that watched the most-viewed vice presidential debate in history - 56.7 million viewers for the 1984 match between Geraldine Ferraro (the only other woman to be nominated to the U.S. vice presidency by a major party) and George H.W. Bush.
Didn’t see the Biden-Palin debate? You can check out video of the debate on the C-Span Web site.
A CBS poll of uncommitted voters taken after the debate showed good news for both candidates. Forty-six percent said Biden won the debate compared to just 21 percent who said Palin won. Thirty-three percent thought it was a tie. But impressions of Palin improved significantly – before the debate 43 percent said she was knowledgeable about important issues but that number rose to 66 percent after the debate. That number is still considerably lower than the 97 percent who said Biden is knowledgeable, up from 81 percent before the debate.

the VP debate was stunning. Palin did a decent job faking about 20% of the questions and didn’t even bother answering the other 80%
i couldn’t help thinking of the end of the movie Billy Madison, when the Principal says to Adam Sandler, “Mr. Madison, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.”

It is evident that you people concerned and with good reason. However, let’s take a deep breath and think about this logical for the moment … did we have much of a choice, but, to see this ‘bail out plan’ get passed?
It’s actually, horable to think of it as a plan in the first place. A plan surely predicts something planned - now to be exercised. If we had to call in the ‘Business Professors’ at Yale or Harvard - they will agree that the assumption and meaning of the word plan - is a deliberate action of one’s thoughts and strategy. They are the one’s who taught us, that you first need to plan your work, and then need to work your plan.
Heaven forbid, that we aren’t now in the aftermath of someone trying to work his plan.
It’s all pretty much irrelevant though - the United States is in a huge predicament, and we all need to find a solution. One thing is for sure, if we didn’t see this “plan” (or uncalled for necessary evil - is more like it)through, we would face an even starker future. The question in my mind however, is, if we as Americans, are going to stand by again, and see life deal us blow after blow, without doing something about it?
Fixing the past is impossible - fixing the future - a reality! It is time that we GOYA (Get Of Your [expletive deleted]) and start fixing things from the bottom up, instead of shouting at the top. We need to harness our energy, our fears, our anger, and spill it on every single community official - working on our home front, where we indeed can, and will make an impact. Instead of blogging ourselves to death at the leadership, we should use our blogs to gain momentum and strength, at fighting things right - from the bottom up. All the posts we place at the top are edited in any case.
Let’s heat up the fire at home and get our own congress men and woman into the boiling pots. They always have, and always will, go running up the hill to fetch a pale of water!
I agree that it is time for change, and, hence I believe that we don’t have a better candidate at present, than Barack Obama - anything’s better than a ‘vintage’, if we are to have - have a hell of a race ahead of us!
Barack, I believe, will make the grade. I believe in less than a year’s time, history may just be re-writing itself in America. We are clutching at the past, in fear of what the future may hold with a ‘black young president’!
Obama has a lot riding on his shoulders, his young, his intelligent, his dynamic - but he is black! He is the first African American to ever come close - not mentioning, actually getting into, the white house! He has so much to prove, not just as an American, but as a black American, that I will bet my last dollar - he is going to be the best President we have had in decades!
As long as, his skin is black, and not his heart, I am voting for Obama. The rest have proven their true colours in anyway beyond Obama’s skin colour.
We should unite as one nation again, treat this crisis as a 9/11 - join forces and evict incompetency at every single level of our society. Starting from the bottom up. We need to fix the foundation first, before focussing on the penthouse. We can no longer afford being lazy, televison stricken, excuse driven people! We need to get up, get out and fight the system at groung level zero!
We can use our skills, and resources on the web, to mobilize our country into action - action - action! As Peter Stuyvesant say’s - after the ‘action comes the satisfaction!
I beg of you as fellow Americans to stand up, shut up and face up! We can, and we will, conquer the biggest of challenges together.
Our biggest challenge, however,is us!
WE NEED TO GET TO WORK AND FIGHT FOR WHAT IS RIGTHFULLY OURS - THE GROUND - THE FOUNDATION!
If the foundation crack’s, the best building or architect, cannot prevent it from collapsing.Don’t expect to much from the architect’s of this mess, or this future, expect a lot from yourself and your neighbour and let’s fix the damn thing ourselves - at ground level zero.
May God Bless you!

come-on joe get with it
mistaking the generals name with civil war general
misquoting r. reagan 40 years later
misinformed about the facts
difficulty in tell the truth
and much more!
Are we serious, ask yourself, ARE WE SERIOUS ABOUT THIS PERSON. After watching the debate between Biden and Palin I felt I was back in the sixties, watching the Beverly Hillbillies. If palin fails to make V.P., she is a shoo- in for
Elle Mae Clampet. Was that a debate or was that a comedy show. Palin did not show anything that would ever be concieved as a vice president hopeful.
Did she answer any question that was asked? Did she care if she answered any question? Did you notice how scripted she was, very well trained to look in the camera as if she was talking directy to you, mr. Joe six-pack, (who is he). Let me guess, a guy with a gun in one hand, six-pack of beer in the other, watching Foxnews channel.
I know what her purpose is to Mccain, do you, just ask yourself, why is she there, what’s her reason. Take no offense, I would have voted for Hillary, but this women makes a mockery of all women, except those conservative women.
You cannot be serious to have this women elected.
Mccain should be embarressed to applease the right-wing of his party, (Bushs party to), he is no Maverick, never was a Maverick, he will be known as a senator who just wanted to be president at any cost, and also he will be revered as one of the “KEATING FIVE”.

The gloves are off for the republicans, there is nothing to lose. So what do you do if your mccain/palin, well first you lie, then you make up stories, you associate Obama with know terrorists and criminals, you call the guy from Kenya to cast a spell on Obama/Biden, you cheat, you mclie.
You will see the evilness from the republicans soon, that is the only way that they know how to win, mclie, mccheat, mcsmear, mcthis ,mcthat, anything to win this election just like his buddy george.
Do the republicans think were idiots, do the religious right wacko’s think were nuts, are they playing with us, do they believe were actually going to vote for this women who has no clue about constitutional government and politics. Hey, is anyone listening, Elle Mae Clampett went back to Hootersville when Jed lost his money. Maybe, Palin will head back to Wasillia,(wherever), to teach constitutional law or a political science course for elementry schools.

. . .I read alot of blogs and articles about the debate before i actually watched it.
I must say that although im not “neutral” or “undecided” because i am for Obama. . . .Sarah Palin did really well. Especially in light of the fact that she was the butt of ALL jokes leading up to the debate. I think we all cringed while watchn the Katie Curic interviews and must have expected more of the same with the debate.
Even though Biden won the “debate”, whatever the objectives that her “prep-team” set out for her. . .she achieved hands-down.
This doesnt detract from the fact that there are just too many reasons to NOT vote for Mccain/Palin than there should be, and a few distinct vantage points that “should” give the Obama/Biden ticket the election.
P.S. The “associating with terrorists” ploy is ridiculous and reaks of desperation….
