Students in Delaware – one of the country’s smallest states – are celebrating Joe Biden, Barack Obama’s running mate and the first person from their state to be nominated on a major-party ticket.
MTV’s Delaware reporter, Stephanie, follows the excitement unfolding at the University of Delaware – Biden’s alma mater:
“As any Delaware native will tell you, we’ve heard a lot from old ‘Loquacious Joe’ over his 36-year career in the US Senate – but never has the state been more excited about its longest serving senator. The News Journal – Delaware’s leading daily newspaper – has launched a new feature section called ‘Biden Watch,’ a daily chronicle of Sen. Biden’s campaign for the vice presidency. ‘Way to Go Joe!’ congratulatory signs pepper the windows of small businesses and residences alike, as Delawareans show support for their homegrown candidate. The once small-town Senator has gained notoriety on the national stage, prompting some admiring locals to take a page from his book – or just buy the whole thing.
‘We can’t keep it on the shelves. We’ve been ordering it a lot, but people keep buying it. Some people come in and buy multiple copies,’ said Samantha Heath, an 18-year-old employee of Books and Beyond, a privately-owned bookstore in Hockessin, Delaware. Samantha claims sales of Joe Biden’s book, Promises to Keep, have skyrocketed since Biden was named Obama’s running mate. ‘It’s probably been our best seller the past couple of weeks.’
But Stephanie notes that not everyone is thrilled that Biden is running for vice president – while running for re-election to the senate at the same time. To learn more about this, see her full entry, “While Delaware Celebrates Joe Biden as Obama’s #2, Some Think the Senator is Running 1 Race 2 Many.”
As part of its U.S. elections coverage, Campaign Trail Talk features reports from MTV’s 51 youth reporters, one from every state and the District of Columbia, who provide regular Internet updates on political issues that matter to their generation.

Mr.Vice President, Your administration should take a balanced nuclear policy otherwise it will not work like bush administration. you should not blind to any country’s nuclear facilities. we are confused because you are speaking only about one Asian country but not another asian country who has already attained that capability. it is the blind position of USA foreign policy in middle east.
Bush Administration has singed an agreement on nuclear facility with India which has made an imbalance position on usa foreign policy on nuclear disarmament. It has also made distrust among people on USA and compelled to think about real goal.
Your administration should not compel nations for us made democracy like Iraq & Afghanistan because democracy is the process of the people of a country to select their governing body & it’s need long time like your country. In past time us has destroyed democratic process in some country showing another cause so it should be addressed at first . USA has nothing about Burma’s democratization.
Finally your administration should listen & consult with people to identify the problem but not so called media which record of embedded journalism & partial news.
