Ever wonder how presidential candidates, with all the time they spend campaigning, raising money and talking with the press, keep up with what’s going on in the world?

Both presumed nominees, eager to prove they’re ready to be commander in chief, get help on international affairs from a team of foreign policy advisers. Well-known officials from past presidential administrations are advising Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain.

According to the New York Times, Obama has a team of 300 experts, “organized like a mini State Department,” informing him on international matters. Each day the team sends e-mails briefing him on world events and listing questions that could come up on the campaign trail – as well as suggested answers. McCain has a team of about 75 advisers.
